In 1989 they released their Principles and standards for School Mathematics. This document has had a significant impact on math education in the USA. Recently these standards have been updated and made available in electronic format on the world wide web ( A key feature of the new standards is a collection of electronic examples, written in the Java programing language, that demonstrate and further elucidate the principles set forth in Standards2000.
